io9 has an article entitled "The Philosophical Roots of Science Fiction" which examines how science fiction grew out of philosophical discussion. Given that most superheroes have roots in science fiction and that philosophy and politics and never to far apart, I figured I'd link to it here. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.
